PLOT
Rick and Evie are back 10 years later, married, with a 9 year old son. Rick has settled down, wants to be at home and raise his son, but Evie still has that adventuress blood, so he finds himself in a tomb looking for Anubis' bracelet. Unfortunately for them, they find it, and start another hair-raising series of events, that starts with the kidnapping of their son. It's up to Rick, Evie, Ardeth, and Jonathan to save the child in distress, beat the bad guy, and save the world.

My Review

You know the general story - bad guys running around trying to destroy the world, and it's up to our heroes to prevent it from happening. It's your typical summer blockbuster action flick. If there's one big knock against it, it's that what plotline there is can become very convoluted at times. However, Steven Sommers does throw in a few reincarnation storylines that are fascinating and unexpected. The comic relief this time is brought about by a new character named Izzy. He's MUCH funnier than Beni or Winston ever was, so that's a surprising bonus as well. Other plusses - all the main characters are brought back, and most of them get more in-depth roles. The special effects are AMAZING (as you'd expect them to be). All in all, I think I still prefer the first film, but this very entertaining. Oh, and contrary to what the press might be leading you to think, this is NOT the Rock's movie. He's barely in it.

Fave Quote

"You-lighten up! You-BIG trouble! You-Get in the car!"

Fave Scene
One of the reincarnation twists, when Evelyn finds out who she is.

Quotable Brendan
I don't know whether I had had too much coffee that day, but when I pulled my fingers out I imagined that there was something on the end of them, so I flicked my fingers and everybody at the monitor broke up laughing. I thought 'Ok, they were amused by that, we'll have to go again.' (On adlibbing parts in conjunction with ILM's effects)
